Was the Trump Presser at Four Seasons Landscaping a Mistake or Intentional?
Boys and girls, that press conference was all Rudy. Donny's team didn't have the time to stop Ridiculous Rudy from representing the Trump campaign while standing in front of a decrepit nursery building sandwiched between a porn shop and a mortuary. That's Donny's boy Rudy. Thank goodness Rudy works for Donny for free.
Generating the Scandal
What I read was it was supposed to be at the Four Seasons Hotel. One of Rudy’s people made the announcement, then checked with the Hotel, and they told him “FUCK NO.” This is what they came up with.
The Location Choice
It wasn’t a mistake. It made perfect sense. Consider that the press conference was at the parking lot for a porn shop and a store selling fertilizer. Considering that Rudy's featured guest at the press conference was a convicted sex offender openly wondering why he, as a random person on the street, didn’t have unfettered access to voting ballots. Further, it should be noted that Rudy's most recent claim to fame is sticking his hand down his pants in a hotel room in front of a girl he believed was underage after asking her for her phone number. That location would be more natural for such a pair.
Miscommunication or Intention?
Well, yes and no. Pretty sure that this was a simple miscommunication that blew up into a totally hysterical chain of events. I don't know for sure but I'll speculate that the parties involved were just staffer Rudy Trump and someone miscommunicated. The staffer was probably looking for someone to host and, misunderstanding "Four Seasons Landscaping" as "Four Seasons Hotel," relayed it to Trump. So telephone tag gone bad. That's the simplest explanation. Everything else requires intention, and I just don't see that.
The Humor of It All
What made it funny was the fact that it's a classic Trump-level communication failure. Ultraviolet light anyone? Followed by a classic set of retractions as each venue backed up and a location next to a 'Fantasy' X-rated store in a cheap industrial park. Fantasy is right. But after Borat, Rudy probably checked it out for early Traci Lords videos.
Conclusion
In review, it seems this episode was likely a case of miscommunication. However, it remains a highly entertaining example of the unique communication style often associated with political campaigns, especially those led by individuals with their own distinct flair and style.
