Missed Opportunities: Bands I Wish I Could Have Seen Live
Missed Opportunities: Bands I Wish I Could Have Seen Live
There are countless bands that I have always wished I had the chance to see live on stage. The memories and experiences of a live concert are irreplaceable, and it's always a regret when the opportunity is missed.
The Beatles
Of all the bands I wish I could have seen live, The Beatles would rank at the top of the list. I was just a young fan at the time, but seeing them perform their legendary songs live would have been a dream come true.
Pink Floyd and the Grateful Dead
I also had a deep appreciation for bands like Pink Floyd and the early versions of the Grateful Dead with PigPen and Keith. Unfortunately, I missed the opportunity to see them live, and now I can only imagine the experience of watching them perform.
One of the most exciting times I could have possibly missed was when my brother-in-law was set to see Linkin Park. His favorite band, he had dreamed of seeing them perform. However, the dream came to an end when Chester Bennington took his own life in July, making that concert unfeasible.
Alex Harvey Band and The Doors
In the realm of rock, there are some bands that I haven’t been lucky enough to see live. Two of them that I really wish I could have witnessed are Sensational Alex Harvey Band and The Doors. I have listened to their music for many years and it would have been amazing to see them perform live.
The Moody Blues
The Moody Blues is another band that I regret not seeing live, especially during their tour of the UK in 2015. I was too busy setting up my business at the time and thought I would catch them later, but opportunities like those only come once. The band has since been reduced to a few survivors, making a live performance even harder to realize.
Mot?rhead and Lemmy
I always dreamed of seeing Mot?rhead live when Lemmy was in his prime. The concert just before Lemmy's untimely death was a bittersweet experience. Lemmy was visibly struggling on stage, and the sound mix was also problematic, burying the bass under the drums and guitar. It would have been incredible to witness their energy and performance when they were in top form.
Each of these bands has left an indelible mark on music history, and the chance to experience them live would have been a highlight. Unfortunately, these are just a few of the many missed opportunities I have in my collection, but I remain hopeful that someday I will have the chance to see some of these incredible artists perform live.
