Exploring Creative Specialization: Why Focusing on Drawing Girls Is Completely Okay
It’s perfectly fine to focus on drawing girls if that’s what you enjoy and excel at. Specializing in one subject can help you develop your skills and style. However, experimenting with different subjects can also enhance your overall artistic ability and broaden your creative range. Embracing Your Passion
Absolutely, it’s perfectly okay to focus on drawing girls! Many artists specialize in specific subjects or styles, and developing your skills in drawing girls can lead to a unique artistic voice. If you ever feel like exploring other subjects or styles, you can always branch out at your own pace. The most important thing is to enjoy the process and express yourself creatively. If you have specific techniques or aspects you’d like to improve, feel free to ask!
MY Journey with Specialization
It’s the way I started. That’s all I drew—the female form. I didn’t have a problem drawing guys because the human form between both genders is similar. To this day, despite being able to draw both genders, I enjoy drawing the female form more. So if your drawing time is all females, keep running with it.
Run with it as long as your creativity will fuel it. There will come a day you will branch out. It may be not today but later. It’s the natural progression of organic skill growth. Let it flow; don’t force it.
Artistic Preferences and Perspectives
Sure. From an artistic perspective, women are infinitely more interesting. They are curves and soft tones. Men, on the other hand, are angles and planes and rather uninteresting. This is my opinion, and I know tons of folks will disagree with me. That’s fine too.
Practical Considerations
It depends on where you want to take your art. If you are looking to get work and make money, you are severely limiting yourself to one gender.
Specialization: If you specialize in drawing a specific gender, you will limit your portfolio and the types of projects you can take on. Inclusivity: Endeavor to be as inclusive as possible by including all races, kinds, and body types. This will open up more opportunities for you. Flexibility: While you may have a preference, be flexible and open to taking on projects that involve drawing all kinds of subjects.Regardless of where you stand, the key is to enjoy the process, express yourself, and grow as an artist. Whether you draw girls, boys, or both, exploring and developing your art is what matters most.
